Product: Password Generation (Chrome extension)

Summary

Password Generation is a lightweight, offline password generator extension. We respect your privacy. This extension is designed to work entirely on your device and does not collect or transmit personal data to any servers.

What data the extension uses and stores

The extension may access or store the following information locally on your device:

• Generated passwords and timestamps (History). When you generate a password the extension can save that password and the generation time in your browser's local storage (Chrome's chrome.storage.local). This data is stored only on your device unless you explicitly export it.
• User preferences. Settings such as default password length or selected character sets are kept locally so the extension remembers your preferences.
• Clipboard access. When you click the extension's Copy buttons the extension uses the clipboard API to write the password to your clipboard. No clipboard data is sent off the device.

What we do not collect

• We do not collect, transmit, or store any data on our servers.
• We do not collect analytics, telemetry, or usage statistics (unless you explicitly enable or add such a feature in the future).
• We do not access other Chrome data, browsing history, or website content.

Permissions used

The extension requests only the permissions necessary to provide its features:

• storage — to save password history and user preferences locally.
• clipboardWrite — to copy generated passwords to the clipboard when you click Copy.

These permissions are used only locally and are not used to send data off your device.

History & Export

The extension can keep an indefinite history of passwords you generate (if you enable that feature). Each history item includes a timestamp (date and time) and the password text. You can:

• View and copy any history entry directly from the extension UI.
• Clear the history using the "Clear All" control in the extension.
• Export the history as a .txt file via the extension's Export function. Exporting creates a file on your device; the exported file is not uploaded anywhere by the extension.

How to delete your data

Because all data is stored locally, you control it:

• Open the extension and use the Clear All button to remove saved history.
• Or uninstall the extension. Uninstalling the extension removes its local storage in Chrome.
• To remove exported files, delete them from your device's Downloads folder or wherever you saved them.

Children

The extension is not designed for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Third-party links

The extension does not load or rely on any third-party analytics or tracking libraries. If the extension contains links to external websites, those sites are not controlled by us and may have different privacy policies.

Security

The extension uses built-in browser cryptographic APIs (for example crypto.getRandomValues()) to generate random passwords. While we make reasonable efforts to protect data stored locally, no method of storing data on a device is 100% secure. Treat exported password files as sensitive and remove them after use.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the new policy and update the Effective Date above. We recommend checking this page before publishing or after updating the extension.

Your rights & contact
